Today was Maureen Oconnor's memorial service. I met Maureen last year at the Community Habilitation Center. She worked with a number of my students who visited the Center every Wednesday. Maureen gave the best hugs; her smile opened up the heart in the most profound of ways. As I heard her friends share their memories of her this morning, I realized that remembering is an act of love, that the service was a manifestation of love, of Maureen, of God.Monday, November 11, 2013
