Tonight I attended the PH.D. recital of David Pagel, the UM grad student who has been our church organist for the last year or so. David is a composer, and tonight the entire program was comprised of his works written for piano, trombone, French horn, and voice. He and those who performed his works with him treated us to a feast for the ear and the imagination. What gifts God has given to them for sharing with others! I am grateful that God gives each of us talents as gifts meant to be shared. Come to think of it, writing this blog entry is the result of a talent given to be shared.
After the recital, on the church patio, we were treated to another feast of spirits and hors d'oeuvres provided by the performers and members of our church family. Wonderfully good! I could not have imagined a better Friday night--and all because of those sharing their gifts.
