Post 1

I missed the first two days of the gratitude challenge as I have not been in my apartment for more than two hours besides to sleep. With a crazy work schedule and a graduate school workload, it can be hard to find that perfect balance between work and play. As I served coffee and practiced my latte art during my work shift, I began to stress over the fact that I had not yet started my homework for the coming week. After a useless few minutes of beating myself up, I realized that I also had not posted on this blog, something I committed to and was looking forward to participating in. As I finally get to sit down and start my work, I know exactly what I am grateful for in the past couple of days.

I am thankful to have great friends who are able to distract me from my work and allow me to enjoy my new life in St. Louis, for my coworkers who take the time to train me to become a barista, for being the only one on the road during the early drive to work and being able to admire the changing leaves, and for a quiet apartment all to myself to enjoy when I finally have the time.
