I am grateful for the entitlements of the government. Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security are three that have favorably impacted our family. Weird that some seem to want to undo entitlements and make them a bad thing. We work and give money to the government. We are, in fact, entitled to some things. Health and a bit of financial security don't seem like too much. I am grateful that there are parts of the government that see it this way:

"Social Security is a compact between generations. Since 1935, America has kept the promise of for its workers and their families." (SSA website)

I hope that we continue to maintain our compacts.

I am thankful for friends who believe that social compacts, entitlements, health, education, welfare are far more important that wars and weapons. I am glad that they are asking for the government to spend less on war and weapons and put it into social welfare. We are entitled to a good government that looks out for the little guys like us.
