Grateful Hair

Today, I am grateful for my hair. It might seem like a strange thing to be grateful for, but that is the beauty of gratitude. Realizing the small blessings we take for granted each and every day. It is not until we come face to face with another being, who admires something about us that they might not have.
Today, I met a precious angel named Marybeth. Marybeth is an 8 year old girl with Cancer. As I was standing in the check-out line at Marshall's eager to pay and get on with my life; I felt a slight tap in the back of my arm. Ready to turn around and snap at whoever it was that touched me (cause hey, let's get real, us Miami-ins are always ready to snap!)Standing behind me, was Marybeth. She couldn't help but notice my crazy hair. She was a bald little lady with a beautiful bright yellow bow accentuating her hairless crown. As I turned around eager to see what this little girl wanted, she then percieved to ask me a question, "I really like you hair. Can I touch it?" she said. With an enormous smile on my face, while trying my hardest not to cry, I bent down on my knees and allowed her to play with my hair. "Well, ofcourse you can beautiful." I said. It was one of the most unforgettable moments I have ever experienced. If Marybeth would have caught me on the day with my big purse filled with strange things like a pair of fabric scissors, I would have cut her a curl or two from my head, just so she can remember me the way I will always remember her.

<3 grateful hair.
